Electronics, made approachable.

Adafruit Industries

Circuit Playground is a learn-to-code electronics board designed to make hardware approachable for students and makers alike. We led concept generation, rendering, rapid prototyping, and industrial design, then carried the project through vendor and production liaison.

The enclosure is injection-moulded in polycarbonate, one of several electronic cases we've designed and produced for Adafruit over the years, though Circuit Playground had no real precedent to work from. With nothing else that looked like it, we had the freedom to set the standard ourselves: the contacts are left exposed and clearly identifiable, so a student or beginner tinkerer can see exactly how to use it without reading a manual.
